DTS016 - Bellows

Accordion meets Melodeon

Two nice bellow-type instruments from Thuringia in the early 1940s.
Just too interesting to throw away. Not only for Shanty and Tango but also for textures. It seems that the ship´s kobold is still aboard...

DTS015 - YACS

Eastern Sunset

A comprehensive collection of sounds created with the Yamaha Control Synthesizer Type 15.

Each preset of the Live Pack consists of its unique set of samples and velocity layers. Eight macro controls allow instant tweaking of combined parameters. Due to the modular structure of Live Racks access to the more detailed settings of each patch is also guaranteed.

The original CS-15 is an often underrated monophonic synth from the late 70's. It is equipped with a dual signal path including 2 Oscillators, 2 Multimode Filters, a dual VCA system and 2 assignable Envelope Generators. With these switch-assignable modules the CS-15 turns out to be more than a simple monophonic analog synth of its time.

DTS012 - Forststrasse 8

Found sounds from the attic

An old house somewhere in the German countryside with an attic full of sound objects like pots, pans, lids, chairs, wardrobes, bicycle frames, basins, bathtubs and shaky windows.
The recordings made there served as the foundation for the creation of a nice selection of long and evolving textures and drones that cover the borderline between tonal and atonal soundscapes.
Every sample was carefully handcrafted by passing several processing stages. The release includes them as chromatically mapped instrument rack and as live clips.

DTS011 - La Ramona Synthesizers

Hammer, Zirkel, Aehrenkranz

Featuring the sounds of the one and only Vermona Synthesizer, made in GDR, this Live Pack transforms the symbols of the east german workingclass into 3 exciting synthesizers.

"Hammer" is good for strange textures.
"Zirkel" is a kind of 303 bass synth. The original Vermona filter is featured here.
"Aehrenkranz" can be fitted with 133 different oscillators carrying a great variety of Vermona sounds. It is also excellent for messing around with phase shiftings. A manual can be found here. (o)

DTS010 - Four Organs For Music

The Organ Donor

This Live Pack features 4 transistor organs from the early seventies.

Vermona ET-3 (1974)
Vermona ET-6 (1973)
Universum Duo (1975)
Philicorda GM-761 (1972)

Each single register of each organ was precicely mirrored into the Ableton Live cosmos. The Live Pack contains the full feature organ devices plus the single registers. So new combinations across all four organs can be created. The GM-761 spring reverb is also included - listen to the audiosamples!
An extra manual explaining the use of the registers can be found here. (o)

The audiodemos where produced by Mark A. Galang,
a young and gifted composer from the Philippines. ->

DTS009 - ROLFING Laid Back Vol.1

rescued from the timber worm

A really rotten upright piano, totally out of tune, with all the keys disappeared.
But the chassis was still complete and made such a fantastic reverb, it seemed to be everlasting. Slapping the lowest string it took almost three minutes until the sound had gone.

With Volume 1 you get the original piano sound picked up at two distances plus five other sound sets using different prepared piano techniques.
The audio demos you can listen to on the left were made completely without additional reverb.

Recording place: expression1000 ->
Many thanks to Martin and DJ Deiner!

DTS008 - The Casiopeia Synthesizer

digital stardust

Do you know the RAPMAN?
A little plastic toy with some plastic 80ies drumloops, some basic plastic standard sounds and a plastic disc for basic standard scratching. Pretty boring at the first glance.

So please DO NOT listen to the audio samples!
Otherwise it may happen that you don´t agree.

DTS007 - THE JUNGLEFISH SYNTHESIZER

handmade, unique, analog

The Junglefish: An analog synthesizer at its best. 5 Oscillators, Multimodefilter, Envelope, LFO, PWM - everything that is needed to keep the spirit of the "one knob - one function" sounds alive.
We transferred this philosophy to Ableton Live, expanding the virtual Junglefish with 25 samplebased, hot swappable "Blend to FX" oscillators that allow morphing of the waveforms from clean to distorted and back and forward and back and forward and...

For a detailed description of the Junglefish check out the video. (o)

After the successful Vox Populi Synthesizer, introduced in July 2009, the Junglefish is the second release of our semi-modular synthesizer line - and there is more to come!

DTS006 - Rodox 73

Not only a Danisch theme...

This time we picked up a dusty Rhodes Mark 1 we found in a desolated rear building near my hometown. We tried to get the best out of it and were amazed about the stable sounds this piece gave us!
The thing I personaly like most is the key-off sound when releasing the lower keys.
In our Rodox 73 extension you can steplessly mix the level of these release sounds ad libitum. Furthermore we processed the recordings through different outboard gear such as tubes and reverbs.
So you will have the original Mark 1 sound plus some nice modifications of it, each one basing on its own set of samples.

Thanks to Frank for the demos. ->

DTS005 - TRON 5

Variations on a tank

Another analog treasure from the eastern hemisphere.
The russian Elektronika EM-5 comes green and heavy like a battle tank but when taking a look closer it is more like a cancer. Protected by a 25 KG steel body it soon reveals its vulnerability. But once the cheap plastic keys, some transistors and other bowels had been fixed the Elektronika rewarded us with some lovely keyboard sounds not far from the Clavinet and a string section.
With the Tron-5 extension we have preserved these nice original sounds but also demonstrate that the original CAN sound like a tank. Among other things we added an adjustable suboctave and the distinctive key-off noise that is inherent to this keyboard.
Listen to the demos!

As a very special feature the Tron-5 extension includes some lightweight versions of the original sounds. So this extension can also be played on netbooks and older computers with nearly the same comfort.

Thanks to Frank from hiPhi and Stefan for the audiodemos. ->

DTS004 - VOX POPULI SYNTHESIZER

The Polivoks for Ableton Live

The legendary Polivoks from Russia now available for Ableton Live!
All 5 original Polivoks waveforms where captured and integrated carefully into its unique Multiwaveform Oscillators. Each waveform is represented by 32 single samples that cover all five registers of the original Polivoks: 32´ | 16´ | 8´ | 4´ | 2´

Due to the semi-modular principle of Live the Vox Populi Synthesizer could be extended far beyond the original Polivoks layout. It includes 4 different types of Multiwaveform Oscillators capable of Waveform Shaping, Frequency Modulation, Amplitude Modulation and Pitch Modulation. Additional 24 oscillators contain further sets of multisampled Polivoks timbres. Each one of these 28 different oscillators is hot-swappable and can be used easily to extend the sound spectrum of the Vox Populi Synthesizer.

DTS003 - Hades

statements from the lower floors of universe

A journey to the inner circles of darkness that captured some noiseprints from the creatures permanently surrounding us.
We found a lot of borderlined material - is it tonal, is it atonal?
Does the harmonic timbres have enough power to persist against all those buzzes, hums, scratches, noises, purrs that constantly tried to interfere with the sought after paths to the creation of authentic statements about craving, agony or innocence?

Decide yourself.

DTS002 - Cinematic

endlessly sustaining textures

A collection of multisampled instruments specializing in the background colors of the soundstage.

Introducing TICHRO, the Timevariant Chromatic Envelope Modulation principle.

TICHRO instruments consist of two classes:
(1) timevariant constant pitch with chromatic keyscaled ADSR and Filter Envelopes
(2) timevariant variable pitch with chromatic keyscaled ADSR and Filter Envelopes
These instruments allow for easy creation of cluster sounds, crossfade effects, out-of-tune drones and twinkle-melodies.
